Yes! Our Family Eucharist is typically held on the third Sunday of each month (September–May), featuring children’s choirs and a kid-friendly sermon. On other Sundays, children worship in the Children’s Chapel before joining their parents for Holy Communion.

There is a church parking lot located at the back of the church on California Street. Use 212 California Street, Ridgewood as your GPS address. There are reserved accessible spots available in the parking lot.

Yes! There are accessible dedicated parking spots in our parking lot. The church is on the same level as the parking lot with a ramp leading into the building. The church and parish hall are on the same level along with restrooms. If the lower or upper levels need to be accessed, an elevator is available.

Nursery Care - A staffed nursery for infants - 5 year olds is open upstairs (2nd floor) and is available during 10am Sunday worship in a specially equipped room with age appropriate activities.

Sunday School is available for four year olds through 7th graders. Classes take place three Sundays a month, meeting at 9:30am. The Sunday School students rejoin their families halfway through the service at the sharing of the peace and stay in worship for communion.

Children's Chapel is held three Sundays each month for children ages three through 5th grade. Sunday School classes are dismissed directly to Children's Chapel and then proceed to worship following the Peace.

Family Holy Eucharist: "Big Church" is at 10am on the third Sunday of the month, featuring our Children's Music Programs. We encourage children in 4th grade and up to take on Acolyte and Lector roles. There is no Church School or Children's Chapel on a "Family Sunday."

Children's Choirs - Our two children's ensembles, Joyful Noise (Gr. K-4) and Cantare (Gr. 5-8), meet together on Wednesday nights at 5pm. They sing at our monthly Family Services, at the Christmas Eve and Easter services, and frequently have the opportunity to join the Senior Choir in the performance of concert works with orchestra. In rehearsal, we practice music-reading skills, learn about good vocal technique, play musical games, and thoroughly enjoy one another's company!

Middle and High School Youth Groups that focus on faith, fellowship, and community outreach.

Confirmation - Our confirmation program gives our eighth graders an opportunity to mature in their relationship with God and in their understanding of the Christian Faith. They typically meet twice a month at 11:45am from September - April.

Teen Outreach - Our teens participate in Outreach activities and an annual Thanksgiving food drive.

During the summer we have monthly Family Dinners and bi-weekly Summer Storytime.

We also have other family and kid friendly activities like the Holy Ghost Weenie Roast, Boo in the Pews, Christmas Tree Lighting, Christmas Pageant, Easter Egg Hunt, recognition of graduates, Flower Sunday, and Super Soaker Sundays.

Yes! Baptisms typically occur during a Sunday Eucharist at 10am. Before the ceremony, adult candidates or the parents and godparents of children meet with clergy (on a day separate from the service) to review the rite and its significance. Please contact the church office for more information.

Christian marriage is a sacred, public covenant between two people. In the Episcopal Church, at least one person must be baptized and actively involved in the church. At St. Elizabeth’s, weddings are reserved for parish members, and couples must meet with clergy beforehand. Contact the parish office to learn more about joining the church or planning a wedding.

Funerals focus on the resurrection and our hope in life beyond death. Christians find comfort not in reward for good lives, but in the promise that God raises all to new life. As an Episcopal Church, our services follow The Burial of the Dead liturgy in The Book of Common Prayer, with scripture readings from the Bible and prayers affirming our resurrection hope. In the Book of Common Prayer, the whole service is entitled the Holy Eucharist. The first part of the service is designated the Word of God. It usually includes the entrance rite, the lessons and gradual psalm, the gospel, the sermon, the Nicene Creed, the prayers of the people, the confession of sin and absolution, and the peace. The second portion of the service is designated the Holy Communion. It includes the offertory, the consecration of the bread and wine in the Great Thanksgiving, the communion of the people, and the concluding prayers of thanksgiving and dismissal. A blessing is given prior to the dismissal.

Before Lunch Book Talk (BLBT) meets on the first Tuesday of each month in the Garden Room. We meet at 11:45 AM for socializing, followed by a one-hour book discussion starting at noon. Afterward, those who can stay enjoy lunch brought from home and more conversation.

Needlecrafters meet on Wednesday evening at 7:30pm and Thursdays at 10am to create baptismal blankets and prayer shawls and other handcrafted items.

There are so many opportunities to volunteer! Members of the congregation serve on committees such as finance, outreach, parish life, and property. There are opportunities to volunteer in worship as a reader, usher, worship assistant, counter, or on altar guild. We have an adult choir. We have folks who host coffee hour and others who use their cooking skills to prepare meals for a homeless shelter in Paterson. Our Sunday school is taught by volunteers. We regularly volunteer at and support Philip's Academy in Paterson. We have multiple service projects throughout the year with volunteer opportunities. We also welcome new ideas and opportunities!

St. Elizabeth's is governed by a 15-member vestry, including the Rector and two Wardens. Vestry members serve three-year terms; Wardens may serve two consecutive two-year terms. The Rector chairs all meetings, with one vestry member acting as clerk and another as treasurer. Vestry members serve on various committees alongside parishioners, with the Rector and Wardens as ex officio members of all committees.

Yes, there is a doggie fountain along our garden path for our four-legged friends. Many neighbors enjoy walking their dogs through our property.

Yes, we have a secret garden for children located off the path on the west side of the property.
