Weddings,
like all of the services of the Church, have God as their focal
point. In weddings we begin by
stating the Christian
under-standing of marriage, we read passages from the Bible
which provide the foundation for that understanding, we witness
the exchange of vows of the couple, and we ask God to bless and
strengthen the couple in their life together. Christian marriage
presupposes that the couple are currently active Church members.
As
with all services in the Anglican tradition, the liturgy is from
The Book of Common Prayer, and the music, decorations and all
other elements of the service are under the direction of the
clergy and drawn from the traditions of the Church. For more
information about getting married at St. Elizabeth's, please
call the Parish Office.
