Thanks and Giving
St. Elizabeth’s funds its mission just about entirely from the annual pledges of current members. We have reserves for building issues and to ensure against seasonal fluctuations, but we do not look to investments to support our current mission. It’s the fiscal version of “give us this day our daily bread.”
Every fall we review with you the year we are completing, and we look ahead to the year to come. Equally, and probably more importantly, we ask you to consider your relationship to God, and how you can use your resources—time, talent, and money—to grow towards a healthier and stronger life for yourself and for our community. Our product is not so much a list of programs and grants as it is the growth of each member of our community in their relationship with God.
This is a season when we reflect on how we can hold fast to those things that endure, even “while we are placed among things that are passing away” (BCP, p. 234). This process leads up to all-parish brunches on the Sunday before Thanksgiving Day, when we will receive the pledge cards from our members.

We support the life and ministry of St. Elizabeth's through our annual pledges, which account for about 98% of our income. Pledge cards will be available in early November. A festive Ingathering Brunch will be held in the Parish Hall to mark the end of the Now Thank We All Our God ingathering season.
The goal is to have received a pledge card from every household. Pledge cards are available and can be returned in the offering plate on Sunday, to the Parish Office, or to your Ingathering caller.

Here are a few things you can do to ensure that your contributions are allocated correctly:
1) Write in the memo area of the check what the payment is for, e.g., Pledge, Progressive Dinner, Outreach Auction, etc. Even if you issue your checks through an online banking service, please use the memo area to let us know what the payment is for.
2) If you mail a payment to the church, please do not send it to John Hartnett’s attention, but rather to the attention of Marcia Bakshi.
Fact: Over 90% of St. Elizabeth's annual income is derived from the annual pledges of current members. We seek those pledges in the fall of each year and, from their total, make up a budget for the coming calendar year.
How to Make a Pledge
Anyone may make a pledge in the Church Office or arrange a personal visit from a caller if that is their preference. Blank pledge cards are available in the Church Office so feel free to complete one and drop it in the basket.
