The Next Chapter at St. Elizabeth’s
After a quarter century of leadership under the Rev. Canon John G. Hartnett, who called on us to live into our baptismal covenants and to see Christ in all persons, our parish is now fully engaged in its Search Adventure for our new rector. We have completed a thoughtful period of discernment, with introspection into who we are as a worshipping community and looking outward to how we can impact the lives of others by living out Jesus’ model of inclusion and care. With guidance from the Reverend Pierce W. Klemmt, our interim pastor, the parish is excited to embark on this next new phase in the life of St. Elizabeth’s.
We have a vibrant parish, with many different ministries offering opportunities for engagement. We have a first-rate music program for children and adults, including offering scholarships to attend the Royal School of Church Music summer training sessions. Our outreach provides funding for 30 organizations both here and abroad. Most notably, we have supported an inner-city charter school from its inception with grants and volunteers. Our multigenerational parish is engaged and active at many levels, from our senior luncheons to our Teen Outreach projects.
Our position has been posted with the Diocese of Newark and the national church position posting website. We are currently accepting candidates until January 15, 2019. Interested candidates should email a resume and cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org.
