Service to others has been a core ministry of St. Elizabeth’s Church for many years. Members of our parish serve our neighbors in need in a variety of ways. Outreach to our neighbors can be a personally rewarding experience and a meaningful way to fulfill our two Commandments which Jesus identified as the greatest: “to love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind” and “to love your neighbor as yourself.”
FaithWorks is a service initiative organized by St. Elizabeth’s Outreach Committee that offers opportunities to our parish to participate in direct service projects with our partner organizations.
Members of St. Elizabeth’s Church have already helped our neighbors in need in the following ways:
• Donations of Thanksgiving dinners to 23 families through St. Paul’s CDC Thanksgiving Dinner Drive
• Distribution of baskets for St. Paul’s Thanksgiving Drive
• Donations of dessert items to support the St. Paul’s CDC Online Auction
• Sorting of food for Social Service Association of Ridgewood and Vicinity’s Thanksgiving Food Drive
In December, the sixth and seventh grade Church School classes will be invited with their parents to deliver poinsettias to members of our parish in need of pastoral care during the 12 days of Christmas, part of our effort to introduce young people in our church to the blessings of service to others. Additional service and pastoral care projects involving the Church School are being planned.
The Outreach Committee has organized several structured service opportunities with long-standing outreach partners. The committee has prepared a Resource List of volunteer opportunities in the local area.

Please let us know of other service opportunities that you would like to recommend. The Outreach Committee is working with the Church School and groups within our church to identify and offer additional service opportunities for parishioners. If you would like to RSVP for the structured service opportunities outlined here or have suggestions about other service opportunities, please contact our FaithWorks Coordinator, John, through the Church Office (201-444-2299 or email@example.com).
All members of St. Elizabeth’s Church are invited to participate in FaithWorks.
