St. Elizabeth's Altar

How Do I Contribute a Flower Memorial or Thanksgiving Flowers?

We have a long tradition at St. Elizabeth's of having flowers on the altar throughout the year, with special arrangements for Christmas, Palm Sunday, and Easter.  These are all given either as a memorial for departed loved ones or as a thanksgiving for a special occasion such as an anniversary, baptism, or family wedding.

The cost of a memorial or thanksgiving is $25.00, which goes to the Altar Guild Fund.  This fund provides all the flowers and decorations in the church, Chapel, and our new building.  It also provides robes for the clergy, acolytes, and Lay Eucharistic Ministers as needed.  More importantly, all the linens used on the altar and the bread and wine used at the communion services are purchased through these contributions to the Altar Guild Fund.

Please contact me for further information regarding memorials and/or thanksgiving flowers.

The Altar Guild prepares the altar and other areas of the Church for worship and cares for many of the objects which make services beautiful, dignified, and holy. The Altar Guild provides for the care of our silver, linens, liturgical hangings, needlework, candles, and the bread and wine we use at communion. Parishioners - men, women, and children - interested in joining the Altar Guild should speak with Jenny Breining or the Rector.

The altar flowers are given each week in memory of departed loved ones or in thanksgiving for our many blessings. We have permanent memorials and thanksgivings, but always welcome new ones at any time.  If anyone is interested in further information on thanksgiving or memorial flowers, please contact Mollie Galletly whose phone number can be obtained in the Church Office and Parish Directory.
